Method
- Pressure cook the soaked dal with 2 cups of water, a sprinkle of salt, a pinch of turmeric powder.
- Heat the mustard oil, temper with black mustard seeds and dry red chilies.
- Add the sliced raw mangoes, a sprinkle of salt, cook over a medium flame till the mangoes are soft.
- Add the remaining turmeric powder, saute for a minute or so. Pour in the pressure-cooked dal, simmer gently for 5-6 minutes.
- Add salt and sugar to taste. Serve cold or at room temperature.
